I am looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer for a company based 20 miles southeast of London, in the very pleasant county of Kent. As a focused and successful agile software company, my customer provides highly innovative solutions for insurers.
Lead Software Engineers report directly to the Head of Delivery and work closely with architects, software engineers, database specialists, business analysts and test analysts. The Lead Software Engineer role is of fundamental importance, ensuring the company continues to design and deliver solutions that meet its high standards. Yours is a key role in liaising with your immediate team, customers and, at times, third parties. You will advise on, and architect, technical solutions, analyse business requirements, produce technical designs and fulfil development of projects to delivery.
Essential skills:
- A degree, similar level qualification or qualified by experience.
- Expert experience of developing complex, highly performing and high quality software systems
- Experience as a technical lead working in agile delivery teams (English language is a must)
- Knowledge of all aspects the Software Development Lifecycle
- You are methodical with an eye for detail and quality.
- Excellent mentoring skills.
- Expert knowledge in the following technologies:
- .NET (C#) o RESTful services using ASP.NET Web API
- WCF
- SQL (TSQL)
- SOLID principles
- Asynchronous programming
- Tests (TDD, unit and integrations)
- Analysis and technical design
- Automated build and deployment
Desirable skills:
- You are Microsoft Certified.
- You have insurance experience.
- Working knowledge of:
- WinForms
- Web development using ASP.NET MVC
- HTML/CSS
- JavaScript
- Windows Workflow
- Cloud based applications
- Automated testing frameworks
- Software security
- Network design
